Blood and body fluid exposure training is mandatory for all healthcare providers working in healthcare facilities. The federal agency that has a mandate on this is the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The federal government is requiring that employers or companies ensure that their employees have a safe working environment. OSHA regulations prescribe safeguards to protect workers against health hazards from exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or toxic chemicals. This course will review the pathogens that the care provider may be at risk of being exposed to and the proper post-exposure prophylaxis interventions.
