According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2021, there were 38 million people diagnosed with diabetes in the US and about 29 million undiagnosed. Another 125 million have pre-diabetes condition. It is so prevalent in the general population. This course will attempt to review the pathophysiology of diabetes. It will attempt to guide care providers on how to manage this chronic condition and what symptoms to watch out for that may indicate an emergency.
