The coronavirus pandemic was a serious public health crisis. Per the World Health Organization (WHO), as of 2023, the pandemic had infected over 700 million people and killed around 7 million people around the world. In the modern medicine era, there has not been a more serious infectious illness than the severe acute respiratory symptom (SARS) attributed to Covid 19. This course reviews what we know about the virus, and how we can protect ourselves from getting the infection, while we provide care for those who are acutely ill from this virus.
