Course Description
Perineal care is one of the basic skills in nursing. It is a mandatory topic in the didactic portion of all CNA programs. It is a skill that the CNA needed to practice many times over and be signed off before being allowed to pass the program. The importance of good perineal care can not be emphasized enough. The perineal area is prone to infection. Good perineal care is very important especially for incontinent patients.
